September 2023 – Table Tennis Update

This month will be busy with the interclub competition winding up and the Club Grade Champs in full swing.
The Grade Champs will be held over several nights because some grades have a large number of players.
Last month we held our annual competition against Richmond Club for the Cockburn Cup in the events hall.
After a hard-fought night of table tennis, Hornby Club won 39-35.
Our big event this month is the South Island Club’s Table Tennis Champs. This year it is being held in Oamaru on the 15 and 16 of September. Only 28 teams have entered this year, down from 35 teams last year, with Hornby Club entering six teams. One team each in the A, A/R, C and D Grades and two in the B Grade.
