Mid Week Bowls Update – December 2025

Well, our last newsletter for 2025. It’s with great sadness that one of our members Barry Saunders passed away. Barry was very much a loved member of the midweek bowls section and had been for many years, he will be sadly missed by all. Our sincere condolences to his lovely wife Jeanette and family.
On the 2nd of November our planned mystery bus trip was, abruptly thrown into chaos due to the weather, we had planned a trip on the Kaiapoi River boat the Queen and lunch at the Kaiapoi club, but both the Kaiapoi and Waimakariri were in flood. With some quick thinking and planning, the trip went ahead with a tour around the city and a visit to the Airforce Museum, and then we headed to the Kaiapoi club for lunch, arriving back at Hornby club at around 3pm. By the time this newsletter goes to print, we would have had our Xmas Lunch which was held on the 2nd of December at the Club. We will be starting back on the 27th January 2026.
