May 2024 – Pool Update

The Interclub Pool keeps chugging on, Premiers have finished their first of three rounds, and the other Divisions are nearly through their first round. Hornby Titans, Hornby Silver, Hornby Spartans and Hornby Diamondz are well placed in the top parts of their respective leaderboards.
Four Hornby players have made the New Zealand 8-Ball Team travelling to Blackpool, England in June; John Renwick in the Men’s Team and Letitia Jackson, Sherralee Boyce and Maxine Soal in the Ladies Team. Good Luck to them all, do us Proud!
On a different but connected note, there was a fundraising Tournament for the NZ Team Players held at Cashmere on the weekend. It was won by Hornby’s Tony Gumley over Mike Hayes. Tony went through qualifying on Saturday without dropping a frame, a great achievement. In-House, the Pool Section held the Josie Bodger Memorial in mid-April. Dennis Thompson came out on top over Andy Parke in the final, for his second win in the In-House calendar.
