March 2024 – Travel Update

Hello to all,
Twenty-eight travel section members had a most enjoyable afternoon on Sunday 18 February on the Kaiapoi River.
The weather was brilliant, and the boat took us right out to the Waimakariri River. It was very interesting to see the landscape and the number of folks along the banks fishing. We had an enjoyable lunch on board, with BYO drinks. The group all seemed to be very happy, there was a good vibe amongst those that attended.
We have been invited to a pre-Paddy’s Day outing at the Oxford Club on 10 March. A coach is organised to transport members for $10 per member and admission at Oxford Club is $10. This notice is on the notice board with just a few spaces left.
On Thursday 28 March, Derek has arranged a visit to the Rakaia Island Farm, with the coach departing Hornby Club at 9am. T will stop at the Bridge in Prebbleton afterwards for lunch. The cost is $40 per member. The notice for this, is also on the notice board.
Our next monthly meeting will be held on Monday 18 March at 7pm upstairs at the club.
