July 2024 – Midweek Bowls Update

Well, the shortest day has come and gone, and we are truly into winter. We travelled to Ashburton RSA on the 18th for our annual bowls trip. We started with a full bus of 49 but due to illness, three people were unable to make it. We arrived there at around 11.30am, where we were greeted by club members, some with umbrellas, as it was raining. We decided this year to have lunch there and I must say it was a great decision, the meal was great. We started bowls around 1pm, some members decided to sit out and take it easy, while some decided to play pool, others found the gamming room. We finished bowling around 3pm and had a beautiful afternoon tea put on by the lovely members of the RSA bowling section, then it was on the bus around 4pm for the journey home. A great day was enjoyed by all. We look forward to them coming to see us, hopefully in August.

As usual, our bowling section is humming along. We cannot believe it, but new members are turning up just about every week, new members are always welcome. It’s just so nice to see everyone enjoying themselves and having a great time. We wish to thank our members supporting our raffles, this helps pay for our trips away and without your support this would not be possible.
