February 2024 – Pool Update

Hi everyone,
January and February are a busy time for the Pool Section, with the build up to the finals of the Summer League, the start of the Section Tournaments for the season and organizing the teams for the Canterbury 8-Ball Interclub competition for 2024.
Hornby WMC and MSA are entering nine teams across four interclub divisions for 2024, with lots of new and returning players participating. It’s not too late to get stuck in and join a team, contact Pauline Laugesen, Section Chairperson, and we’ll find a home for you, whatever your skill level.
We have four weeks of our Summer Leagues to go. Tuesday is for Open Grades and Wednesday for Beginners and Division Two and Three players only. The competition is flexible enough for players to jump in at this stage, just be in the Pool Room by 6.30pm on Tuesday or Wednesday for a game or two. You don’t have to be a Pool Section member to play.
Competition remains tight amongst the leaders with less than 1% win-loss ratio between the top three players on Tuesday and less than 2% on the two front runners on Wednesday. At this stage the Minor Premiership could go to anyone of half a dozen players on either night.
