October 2022 All Sports Update

Alan Cole Trophy Euchre
This event was held on Sunday 18 September.
We had 80 members playing on the day, all enjoying a good fun, social afternoon, playing Euchre with five pairs, against other sporting section teams of 10, finishing off with a lovely afternoon tea. However, it was disappointing we only had five sections playing… Cards had two teams, Crib had two teams, Golf, Bowls, and Travel, and the Cole Team, gave us eight teams in the draw. We thank these sections that did put forward teams, we appreciate your support in our All Sports events.
Congratulations to the winners on the day, Crib 1 Team on 24 1/2, with Crib 2 Team second on 22 pts, and Cole Team third on 21 pts. We would like to thank those that helped in the set up prior, and on the afternoon, with raffles, runners, and score board helpers. We appreciate your help.
Our next All Sports Tournament will be the “Dick Bain Trophy” on Friday night, October 7. Dick Bain sadly deceased September 2011. He was a past member who was passionate following all sporting sections wherever Hornby members were playing and would go and watch and support when he could over many years.
It will be great to have a good turnout on this Friday night, from all Sporting Sections.
