September 2025 – Travel Update

Hello everyone. Sunday 31st August 26 members are catching the Trans Alpine train to Moana Station, Lake Brunner. The train leaves at 8.15am with check in at 7.45am at the Addington railway station.
Those of you who have arranged to be picked up at Rolleston Station, the pickup time there will be 8.25am We will be met at the Lake Brunner station by staff from Moana Hotel and delivered to Kingfisher restaurant. Please note the overhead bridge is currently closed so the transport to hotel will be well received. Kingfisher Hotel are putting on a lovely lunch for us all, everyone has now made their choice. All drinks are at your own cost and the train is due to arrive back at Addington railway station at 7pm.
Tickets have been purchased for the Christchurch symphony Orchestra prom evening, for those who had their names on the notice board and have paid their money for Saturday 18th October, coach will depart Hornby Club at 6.30pm.
Also, on Sunday 12th October we are departing Hornby Club at 10am to visit a couple of Waipara wineries for tastings and we will supply a few platters at one of the wineries, we will then go to the Iron ridge sculptures for a look around before making our way back. We will stop at Leithfield Hotel to have a small catch up and food will be available for purchase at your own cost. We will then make our way back to the Hornby Club.
