September 2022 Table Tennis Update

Our season is progressing along nicely with a number of new members joining our section this year.
On 7 of August, Canterbury Clubs held its Veterans (Over 45) and Masters (Over 55) Champs at Hornby Club.
Hornby Veteran winners were:
A Grade Doubles: Dave Samson and Gregg Davey. A Grade Singles: Gregg Davey.
Hornby Masters winners were:
C Grade Doubles: Alison Cook and Noel Ward.
C Grade Singles: Alison Cook.
A Grade Doubles: Dave Samson and Gregg Davey.
A Grade Singles: Dave Samson.
This year’s Interclub Competition, which has been running since 26 April, has the A Grade finishing on 16 August and the B and C Grades on 25 of October. The A Grade winner is too close to call.
Our big event this month is the South Island Club Champs, being held this year in Christchurch on 9 and 10 September.
Venues for this tournament are the Richmond Club and the Blenheim Road Table Tennis Stadium. There are 35 teams participating this year, with Hornby Club entering nine teams. Good luck to those who entered.
