October 2025 – Table Tennis Update

Well, with two months left of the season it is time to finish off running the club grades with the Open Championship and a get together for a fun night of 10-pin bowling.
Last month the Canterbury Club’s Table Tennis interclub competition finished for the year and Hornby did well, winning the B and C grades and finishing runners-up in the A and A Res grades.
The big event of the year was the Clubs NZ 2025 South Island Table Tennis Tournament, run by the Dunedin Metropolitan Club and hosted by Dunedin Metro. This was held on the 19th and 20th of September and Hornby entered five teams to this year’s event. Two teams were successful in winning a silver medal: a B grade team of Ann Hay, Steve Ross, Ta (Choon) Park and Ednan (Eddie) Abdul-Razzak; and the C grade team of Robyn Wilson-Grey, Wolfgang Zdrenka, Noel Ward and Alison Cook.
Further ahead, we will be holding our AGM and Cup Presentation on the 4th of November at 8pm on the upstairs mezzanine floor.
