October 2022 Outdoor Bowls Update

A great start to our summer season with a great day of bowls and a coach trip to the Coalgate Bowling Club.
After an overcast day in Hornby on departure to a cool but sunny spring day in Coalgate, the coach was well supported with Bowls as the winner.
We thank the Coalgate Bowling Club for hosting a great day with great food, drink and excellent bowing facilities. Kevin Woodham skipped the best team of the day with two wins and a better point’s difference than Richard Wragg’s and Russell Reekie’s teams. Kevin’s team, which had the disadvantage of swapping players in and out, was made up of Jenny Bodger, Pat Houston, Susan Low, Ron Smith and Bill Stephenson.
Our next game is at Bowls Hornby on the 30 October with a report time of 12 noon, we look forward to our first home game for this season and welcome any member of the HWMC who wish to “have a go” at social Bowls. More information can be found on our notice board in the main bar of the Hornby Club.
