November 2024 – Pool Update

It’s been a bit of a quiet period, most of the competitions are over and planning for the Summer League is nearly complete.
The Nationals, Finals Day and Champion of Champions have been done and dusted since the last newsletter.
A couple of good results at the CNZ 8-Ball Nationals held in Auckland at the Manurewa Cosmopolitan Club at the beginning of October. Paul Blacker going through to the last 16, Barry Henderson to the last 32, Paul Morris to the semifinal of the Plate event.
Hornby Silver Division 1 team came in third for the season on Finals Day, losing the semifinal in the morning but beating out the competition in the afternoon to take the Bronze.
Hornby’s Aileen Barnes won the Ladies Singles in the Champion of Champions, beating out all the leading ladies from all the Canterbury Clubs.
The Wednesday Summer League is starting 30 October. It is a relaxed competition for Division 2 and 3 players and beginners. This is a good way to learn the interclub rules and see what the competition is all about.
Registration is each Wednesday by 6.45pm and a 7.00pm start, just turn up on the night.
