May 2024 – Indoor Bowls Update

Our Clubs NZ South Island Indoor Bowls tournament held over Easter was a very successful tournament with a good entry and overall fun tournament.
Results from our members were: Singles Mike King first and Darryl Gallagher and Chris Matthews third equal. The pairs in the last 8 were Chris Matthews and Dave Woods. The Triples results were second Mike King, Dave Bullock and Bev Diamond. Semifinal was Pat Botica, Katie-Rae Botica and Pat Botica Snr. The last 8 were Chris Matthews and Bevan Matthews team.
Overall, a good result from Hornby. The Osborne Cup was played recently at the CIBA over two consecutive Fridays. The runner up was Dave Bullock and Alister Graham.
The NZ/ Canterbury Mixed Pairs, played recently at the CIBA, was won by Chris and Donna Matthews. They will now go onto the Zone finals in Oamaru in July. Good luck down in Oamaru.
A special mention to Chris who earned his 20th Canterbury title. An awesome achievement.
Third equal was Darryl Gallagher and Bev Diamond.
The NZ Master Fours played at the CIBA was won by Mike King, Dave Bullock, Ann Graham from Richmond and Bev Diamond who also now go to the Zone Finals in Oamaru in July. We wish our players good luck down in the Zone finals.
