March 2024 – Managers Report

Hi Members,

The Club is picking back up after the traditionally quieter January and February. Raffles have been busy, and our Wednesday and Friday members draws are steady with our Chase the Ace at over $1400 on Thursday at the time of writing this, is now being drawn at 7.05pm.

We will also be running our annual Membership Renewal draw on Wednesday 20 March at 6pm with over $2000 of prizes to be shared with you. Make sure you have renewed your membership and buy something between 3pm and the draw to be in to win.

Coming up in March we have St Patrick’s Day on Sunday 17th. Jo and her band will be playing in the main bar from 4.30pm. Guinness will be $10 for the day and Irish Whisky, Bushmills, will be $8.

Our usual Sunday music continues, as well as:

  • Friday night music in Pavilion from 8pm with Tracy Rockhouse on 15 March and 12 April.
  • Jo’s Karaoke is on the first Friday of the month, 1 March, and;

Quiz night continues monthly, 6 March, the first Wednesday of the month until May when it returns Weekly, May until Labour Day.

In April we start our music season, with DnD Showband doing an ABBA and 80’s show and Paul Madsen’s team presenting a Sania & Country gig.

Sport we are looking forward to showing on the Big Screen:

  • Super Rugby – the Crusaders making a strong comeback in the second half of their opening game.
  • NRL – the regular season kicks off on Sunday 3 March at 5.30pm in Las Vegas, with the Roosters vs the Broncos, followed by the Sea Eagles v Rabbitohs at 8.25pm.
  • Formula 1 – with Bahrain in the early hours of Sunday morning the 3rd. We’ll be showing the replay at 7pm that night on the big screen.
  • SuperCars – started in February with the Bathurst 500 / 12 hour
  • Cricket – the Black Caps are playing Australia in Christchurch in the second week of March, good to see them beat South Africa, even if they were under strength. See the events calendar for all our music events, and weekly TV schedule in the bar.

Food and Beverages

All of our menus have had small changes, let us know what you think. Our new cabinet items have been selling really well alongside coffees in the Pavilion. Chalmers is inviting families to try out the restaurant on Wednesdays and Thursdays with Kids eating for free with adults buying a main (conditions apply).

Our Chefs have come up with some St Patrick’s Day specials. Come in and see what their Guinness pie is like. It sold out fast last year…!!

– Mondays and Tuesdays: $12 small roast or small fish and chips continues.
– Wednesdays: pizza & beer meal deal
– Wednesday and Thursday: Chalmers – Kids eat free before 6.30pm (conditions apply)
– Thursday: burger and beer meal deal
– Friday: loaded fries and beer meal deal- Sunday: bangers, mash and beer meal deal, $20 per person.The Chalmer’s buffet continues on Sundays. Please note, that the bottle store will be Closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday

Gaming room

Thank you for your cooperation with our team regarding the new regulations now in place that the Club staff must enforce. The more frequent and deliberate interactions with the team are essential for us to meet the obligations of the new laws. Please do not be offended, we are doing what we have to and what the previous government thinks is best for you
