March 2023 Travel Update

Hello to everyone,
Our first trip out since the mystery trip to Motukarara races on 8 January is our train trip to Kaikoura for the day.
We have 39 members attending this day out for which the check in time at Addington railway station is 6.30am.
On arrival at Kaikoura, we will be met at the Kaikoura station by Katrina who has organised a sight seeing tour for us and will then deliver us to Sudima Hotel for lunch. On completion of lunch she will pick us up and drop us in town for time to do some shops, walk about, before checking in at the station for our trip back to Christchurch. Arrival time back at Christchurch is expected around 7.30pm.
Coming up
We have been invited to the Oxford Club on Sunday 12 March for their early celebration for St Patrick’s day which of course is the 17th. There has been quite a bit of interest in this day out, with Irish music and dancing.
We have arranged for a coach to transport us out to Oxford and return to Hornby about 5pm.
Our next meeting will be Monday 20 March at 7pm at the Hornby Club.
