March 2021 Travel Update

The next outing for the Travel section will probably have happened by the time this newsletter is going out.
Our plans are to depart Hornby Club on Sunday 28 February at 10am sharp. First stop is at Little River café for morning tea for those that desire a coffee/tea and muffin/scone etc.
Once morning tea is completed, we move to Barry’s Bay Cheese factory for cheese tastings and the opportunity to purchase any cheeses that may be of interest.
Approximately half the number travelling to Akaroa advised they wished to visit the Giant’s House, the other half had free time to stroll around Akaroa. Fish and chips have been arranged for single packs and we hope to see dolphins on the Black Cat two-hour cruise. The trip is scheduled to leave Akaroa at approximately 6pm to return to Hornby Club.
In upcoming events, arrangements have been made to sail on the Kaiapoi River Queen. This has been booked for Saturday 27 March at 12.30pm. Cost to members for this, including coach, 2 ½ hour cruise, and lunch will be $40.
We will depart Hornby Club at 11.30am, please put your name on the notice board and make the payment of $40 in an envelope clearly marked with your name and ‘River Cruise’ and pass into the office advising it is for the Travel section.
Please note until payment is made, your name won’t be accepted unless prior arrangement is made.
Our next meeting will be held upstairs on Monday 15 March at 7pm.
