March 2021 Darts Update

We have managed to almost complete our Summer competition which is a mixed grade team format. We put in five teams this year and four out of five are in the top eight so a pleasing result so far.
We have had requests to join the section in the last couple of months, due to new people joining the Club. As a result, we will have two extra teams in our winter competition.
18 of our players are off to the Waimea Club in the first week of March to compete in the South Island Tournament and we wish them all the best.
We are about to hold our AGM. This was to be held Monday 15 Feb but due to another meeting upstairs it was decided to postpone due to numbers while we are in Level 2. We will update you with a new time and place as soon as we can.
We are just a year away from holding the South Island competition here at Hornby. We will be looking for volunteers in the not-too-distant future to help with this five-day event. We will be in touch! This will be a large money earner for the Club with at least 200 dart players attending, plus supporters.
Let’s keep fingers crossed this season is a normal one without too many Covid interruptions.
