Managers Report – March 2026

Hello all,

It has been great to see the Club getting busier over the last few weeks with your sections kicking back into action, school being back and corporate meetings and training functions filling our Club up daily. Thanks for your support over the quieter months of the year for the Club.

The big news from the management team is the appointment of Helena as our new head Chef. Helena has over 15 years in senior roles in busy kitchens here in Christchurch and is supported by an experienced team. The changes have already been noticed in the Café’s cabinet, and you will see the updated Legends Menu this month.

Coming up in March we have:

• St Patrick’s Day – with the Club hosting Irish dancers and DnD on Sunday 15th
• Buddy Holly Tribute Show – Saturday 21st
• Gazza and Ian Mac are in the Pavilion on the second and last Sunday (respectively)
• Friday Music in Legends Bar
• X Files 6 March
• Awesome Source 20 March
• Jo’s Karaoke – 27 March in the Pavilion
• Monthly Bingo on 3 March
• Quiz is back weekly from 4 March

Sport:

• Super Rugby Continues
• Formula 1 kicks off in Melbourne – Live on the big screen 8 March
• Super Cars shares the stage 5 – 8 March in Melbourne

• Before a double NZ hit in April
  • NRL starts 1 March with the Warriors first game on the 6th at 8pm

Promotion and Draws

• Members draws continue

• Wednesday: 2 x $100

• Thursday: Chase the Ace – The Jackpot is getting up there, over $2000 at the time of writing

• Friday: Crack the cube

Food and Beverage

Specials for the month:

• Monday: Chefs Special
• Tuesday: $15 small roast or small Fish & Chips remains
• Wednesday: $25 Chefs Platter
• Thursday to Saturday

• $16 Sliders – Two sliders

• $25 Ribs – 6 ribs and fries

• $40 Slider + Rib Platter

Gaming room

Our room continues to be popular. For those that like this type of entertainment offering, we hope that you are enjoying the changes. Please continue to be respectful of our staff completing more frequent and deliberate interactions with yourselves to meet the obligations of the updated laws. Remember to bet responsibly.

Thank you to all that made the time to attend time Special General Meeting. All propose rules updates were passed, so our rules will meet the interpretation of the new act, election cycle is now two years, with elections taking place this year and every even year going forward.

Thank you again for your continued support of your Club. You are what makes everything possible in the Club. Here’s hoping we get a bit more of a summer. Looking forward to seeing you in the Club for the giveaways, promotions and Section activity.
