Manager’s Report for November 2022

Wednesday 2 Nov, 2022

Hi all,

It’s the Racing Season and we are looking forward to
seeing you in the Club for Melbourne Cup, Cup and Show Week, especially for the NZ Trotting Cup on Tuesday 8 November, as well as the Public Holiday Friday and before or after the Riccarton races on Saturday for a great Brunch or to see the Girl Power 90’s tribute show..

Outside of the Club

  • Dart Section member Kayden Milne competed in the World Youth Championships last month alongside a number of other competitions in England. Congratulations on your trip and the experience you gained Kayden.
  • Speights Shield was a great result for the Club with some really competitive teams put forward from Hornby. Well done.

Build Update

The Main Entrance has been shifted, as noted in last month’s newsletter, to the temporary entrance for the next 3-4 weeks while our drop off area is updated.

You can see the great changes and progress that was made outside last month and I am looking forward to the road marking being completed to assist everyone in access to The Warehouse and the flow of traffic.

For van users, pick up and drop off from will be outside the Pavilion entrance until the works are completed. We will be keeping the Pavilion Gate and entrance open to assist you all with easy access to your Club.

Our accessible toilet is nearly complete upstairs, being slightly delayed with some COVID sickness amongst the contractors.

You will also see a new Playground put in place outside the Pavilion Café. This was always part of the plan, and it will be so nice to see it completed.

On the back of the Civil works being completed we will be having our Grand Opening from 8 December to 10 December (More about this further in the Newsletter).
