Managers Report August 2023

Hello Members,

We had a busy July thank you, Bingo had over 200 people, our Quiz night has filled up each week and bookings are now essential, Concerts have been popular with Mercury rising and Madsen Productions shows selling over 250 tickets, and of course some great All Blacks games, especially that win over the ‘Boks.

The Womens’ Football World Cup kicked off on the 20th and continues in New Zealand and Australia, enjoy the schedule and the great games we are seeing, especially the first WIN from the Football Ferns!!

We are looking forward to the Warriors games and seeing how they finish the round robin, regular season, catch the remaining games on the big screen. The All Blacks have a breakfast game later this month against South Africa in England. We are opening early, so join us at the Club for a buffet breakfast while you watch. Book your tickets now.

Food and Beverages

We have seen some great nights in Chalmers Restaurant last month with the update to the menu. Our new burgers, winter warmers and fried chicken have been popular additions.
Pavilion Café sees some updates to the menu this month, so keep an eye out for the tweaks to the menu there.

We welcome back Lambs Fry Fridays and have a special lunch offering for Mondays and Tuesdays for August of a small roast or small fish and chips for $12 between 11am and 2pm.
Confirming the operating hours reintroduced last month:

Legends Bar food:

• 10am to 7.30pm – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
• 10am to 8.30pm – Wednesday & Thursday
• 10am to 9.00pm – Friday & Saturday

Chalmers Restaurant:

• Open Wednesday to Sunday, 4pm Bar, 5pm Dining
• Weekend Days – Available for group functions / bookings of 20 or more (two weeks’ notice required)

Raffles

Thank you to the Fishing Section for your time on the Raffle Table last month. It was great to have sections back on the table as we’re used to.
Again, friendly reminder to please have your tickets available to be counted, we need to be accurate here as the profits from the raffle table go back to funding the sections of the Club.

Club Car park

• Last year the Board approved the car park marked for time limits to assist in park availability for our members
• Recently we have started policing these time limits to keep parks available for our members to use the Club
• Please see the Parking Guide in this newsletter for clarity on parking limits and the process for members questioning any tickets should you have been unduly ticketed.

Regular activities in the Club this month we have:

New Members

• The first Tuesday of each month at 6.00pm between February and October,
• Meet a couple of our board members who will show you around our great new facility and advise you of all that our Club and sections has to offer.

Raffles

• Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4.00pm
• Saturday 11.00am to 1.00pm
• Remember your bags – No more plastic bags available.

Wednesdays

• Members draws 2 x $100 vouchers on your card – drawn after 6pm, after the raffle

Thursdays – Chase the Ace

• Be a member, buy a drink between 5pm and 7pm and be in the draw. Winner will be drawn between 7.05pm and 7.30pm – You could win over $500

Crack the Cube

• On EVERY Friday– sign up by 6.15pm to be drawn between 6.30pm and 6.45pm – You could win over $500!

$12 Lunch Special – 11am – 2.00pm Monday and Tuesday

• Small Roast or Small Fish and chips

Gaming Room

We have a new game on machine #2 coming. so keep an eye out for a couple more updates. Remember to bet responsibly.
We have started taking Grant requests, so if you know of any sports clubs or charitable organizations that may be interested, please let them know July is when our Grant applications open.
