Managers Report – April 2026
Wednesday 1 Apr, 2026
It’s been great to see you all back in the Club to renew your membership, watch the Crusaders, Warriors, cricket and racing. The Club has been buzzing.
On a more sobering note, the recent hikes in fuel prices are putting upward pressure on our suppliers. We are yet to see a tangible change; however, if we do, we will not be able to absorb these. No changes to prices will be made in April, and we will keep you informed should this change.
Looking forward to April, it’s a busy sporting month here in Christchurch, hosting the Super Weekend at our new stadium over ANZAC Weekend, and the V8 Supercars at Ruapuna. Don’t forget to join us for breakfast before you go (if you’re lucky enough to have secured tickets).
At the Club we have:
• Friday tunes – Awesome Source at Legends on Friday 17 April
• Sport on the big screen
• Warriors and Crusaders
• Monthly Bingo on 7 April
• Quiz is back weekly on Wednesdays
The President will be representing the Club, along with others, at the Templeton RSA in the morning parade for those wanting to join.
Friday night music has been well received, and we are managing the performances around the games.
The kitchen team has been busy with the updated menu, and this has also received a lot of praise. Glad you like the tweaks, with sliders back on and ribs as a special.
Pavilion Café continues to be popular with members and the public, keeping the team busy every day of the week. The changes to the Chalmers menu and layout have also had positive feedback, with the seating where the playground was being popular with you all.
Members’ draws continue:
• Wednesday – 2 x $100
• Thursday – Chase the Ace – the jackpot is over $3000 at the time of writing
• Friday – Crack the Cube
Food & Beverage
Specials for the month:
• Monday – Chef’s Special
• Tuesday – $15 small roast or small fish & chips remains
• Wednesday – $20 Chinese-style chicken nibbles
• Thursday – 2 for $15 or 3 for $20 – Karaage chicken tacos
• Friday – $25 – chilli beef nachos
• Saturday – $25 – BBQ pork ribs
Easter Weekend
• Terakihi special

• Easter bunny on Sunday at lunch and dinner, sharing Easter eggs with the kids who are here
Celebrating 70 years
The Club will be hosting a 70th anniversary celebration between 22 and 24 May, with a celebration event on the Saturday night. There will be a focus on our First Ladies who are celebrating 45 years of membership this year. Tickets are on sale at the office.
Van update
In April we will be starting a countdown clock in the main bar, with a 15-minute timer from when a van returns to its next departure. You will see a new small TV on the wall beside the exit to reception.
Vans will wait for 15 minutes before leaving from 5.00pm. Please keep an eye on the timer when you are after a lift home.
If the timer is not going, the van will be on a trip.
Gaming room
Our room continues to be popular. It’s great to see the game swap is popular and those that play enjoying the room. Please continue to be respectful of our staff completing more frequent and deliberate interactions with you to meet the obligations of the updated laws. Remember to bet responsibly.
Thank you again for your continued support of the Club. During tougher times like those we are having now, with fuel prices high, the more you come in, the more we can keep our prices affordable.
