Manager’s Report: April 2023

Hello Members,

What a month we have had, thank you for sharing our lovely Club with so many from around the country. As Kevin has said, we have had countless compliments about our Club, the staff, yourselves and the vision of members past and present to achieve what you have with the redeveloped Hornby Club, and its assets.

Thanks again for sharing your Club during the South Island Darts tournament, New Zealand Clubs Conference and Lions Club Conference.

There was a Special General Meeting in the last days of March, where your President, Kevin Cole was nominated and voted by you all as a Life Member. Congratulations Kevin, you have given a lot for Hornby Club, the summary of your achievement at the SGM was most impressive.

A small note, that drinks prices are not changing until after Excise Tax in the middle of the year.

We are looking forward to April and early May where we have a number of key events and holidays to look out for:

1 April – April Fools
Hope none of you get caught out by anyone!

5 April – Membership Giveaway.
Up for grabs is an E-Bike for 1st Prize, Webber Baby Q 2nd Prize and 5x $50 Club Vouchers

7 April – Good Friday.
No Surcharge. Bottle store is closed. TAB manned terminal closed, but will open Monday.

9 April – Easter Sunday.
Bottle store closed. Trading as normal.

10 April – Easter Monday.
No Surcharge. Trading as normal. TAB Manned Terminal OPEN.

25 April – ANZACDay.
No Surcharge.

Families, we have a couple of new items in the Pavilion cabinet, and we will have an updated kid’s menu alongside a couple of specials in Chalmers Restaurant for the school holidays.

A wee reminder that
Mother’s Day is the first
Sunday in May – book
early for the Lunch and
Dinner Buffet in Chalmers Restaurant, or the Pavilion Brunch!!

Raffles. Keep an eye out for the Oysters at the Raffle Table, they have been selling out quickly recently.
