June 2025 – Travel Update

Travel section has had a quiet month of May after the hectic April month we had with our large trip in the North Island.

It is very pleasing to see the number of new members joining though and the current members renewing their membership with the reduced rate of $15 per annum until end of May when the fee then goes up to $20 per annum.

The open day the Club had on the 18th of May was very successful, and our section joined five new members on the day.

We have our mid -winter dinner organised for the 28th June at the Tai Tapu hotel. We have a total of 65 attending this with two coaches, one coach will leave Halswell at 5.05pm and will pick up a couple on the way. A second coach will leave Hornby Club at 5.15pm.

We have a lovely dinner organised there and every member has made their choice from the very nice menu they set for us. Coaches will depart Tai Tapu hotel at 9.30pm to return back to Halswell and Hornby Club.

Plans have also been made for a train trip from Christchurch to Moana on Sunday 31st August with lunch at the Kingfisher restaurant Lake Brunner and then return on the train back to Christchurch. We are currently finalising this. A notice for this will be placed on the travel section notice board shortly.

Our next meeting will be Monday 16th June 7pm at the club.
