June 2025 – Table Tennis Update

Winter is here and the section is busy with lots of tournaments over the next couple of months.
First up was the Handicap Singles Tournament, which was played at the end of last month. Then we have the Canterbury Club Champs at Hornby on Sunday the 15th of June. Following later this month, the A Graders play-off for the top player in the section.
Last month the Drawn Doubles Tournament (Hugh White Cup) was played with the winners being Anne Hay and Arjun Nallagatla.
Over Easter and ANZAC weekends nine of our members entered tournaments at the Canterbury Table Tennis Stadium. Many were successful in winning medals.
Below is Anne Hay with a Gold Medal for the NZ Veterans Champs over 65 women’s team event. On the right is Alan Law and Noel Ward with their Bronze Medals in the Canterbury teams over 80’s tournament. Well done everybody.
