June 2024 – Pool Update

Hello Hornby Club members.

The pool section is well into the interclub season, with Hornby teams bookmarking both ends of the ladder in a couple of the divisions. There is still plenty of time to turn poor fortunes around and a lot to do to cement places for playoffs. The Pool section held the Jack Elcock Trophy this month, the section’s Open Pairs. It was contested by 19 pairs, and it was a well fought victory by Paul Hinch and Richie Whitty.

The events coming up for the Pool Section are:

• The Ladies Pairs, the Jan May Trophy, on Sunday 26th May.

• South Island Ladies Singles and Pairs at the Invercargill Club over Kings Birthday weekend,

• The South Island Open Pairs and Singles through the following week at the same venue. As usual, it will be well attended by Hornby representatives.
