July 2025 Managers Report
Tuesday 1 Jul, 2025
Hello members,
And just like that we are half way through the year…. Welcome to July, it may be the middle of winter, but the Club has plenty going on. The Big Screen is busy with All Blacks, Warriors, Golf, Formula 1, Super Cars and more. Paul Madson’s Bee Gees & Queen concert later in the month will be a great hit and tickets are selling well. Mid Winter Christmas Buffet is on the 6th and 13th of July in Chalmers, there have been some updates to the Chalmers Menu for you all to try out as well.
Thank you to those who attended the AGM and that voted this year. We have retained the same Board and Executive positions as last year. Congratulations to the elected and unopposed. I’m looking forward to working with you all again, and the Club is lucky to have such a dedicated team.
It would be great to see more of you get involved next year. To review the Clubs activities and share your knowledge and experience on a position of Governance, assisting the Club and giving back to your community.
We gave away tickets to the All Blacks opening Test this year for either attending the AGM or voting, and the lucky winner was Life Member and ex-Treasurer, Brian Purcell. We trust you have a great time in Dunedin at the Game Brian..!!
Looking forward to July:

Members Corner
Members draws are getting up there with Chase the Ace just won by Debora a loyal local, and Crack the Cube at over $1400 at the time of writing.
Great work to the Darts section for their recent win at the All Sports night on Friday the 13th last month.
Food & Beverage
It is excise tax time again… Sadly we will be passing on part of the increase across some bottled products in the middle of the month. With our recent tap beer price negotiation, there will be NO increase to tap beer at this time as we are passing on those benefits to our members. We will also be taking the chance to update our wine list, with a few tweaks to our offerings.
As previously mentioned, Mid Winter Christmas Buffet is on 6 and 13 July, book now as these are popular nights.
Gaming room
In the gaming room, we are looking at a couple of updates, so keep an eye out. Please continue to be respectful of our staff completing more frequent and deliberate interactions with yourselves to meet the obligations of the new laws. Please do not be offended, we are doing what we have to and what the previous government thinks is best for you.
Remember to bet responsibly.
Looking forward to a busy month,
Tim Mathews
