July 2025 – Travel Update

Hello to all
What a cold winter we are having, I hope you are all managing to keep warm.
We have our mid -winter dinner organised for the 28th of June at the Tai Tapu hotel. We have a total of 64 attending with two coaches; one coach will leave Halswell at 5.05pm and will pick up a couple on the way (only those members who advised and booked to be picked up as this smaller coach is full). The second coach, which is also full, will leave Hornby Club at 5.15pm.
We have a lovely dinner organised and every member has made their choice from the very nice menu they set for us. Coaches will depart Tai Tapu hotel at 9.30pm to return back to Halswell and Hornby Club. If on the night you can’t remember your order, I will have a copy with me.
Plans have also been made for a train trip from Christchurch to Moana on Sunday 31st August with lunch at the Kingfisher restaurant in Lake Brunner. We will then return on the train back to Christchurch.
Check in time is at 7.45am at the Addington railway station, the train returns to the station at 7pm. The cost for this trip is $395 which includes the train fare and lunch at Kingfisher restaurant. Those of you who have your names on list but not paid yet, please ensure this is paid by 30th of June.
