July 2025 – Table Tennis Update

With seven rounds gone, the Interclub Competition has now reached the half-way mark with some surprises in the leading teams. The first of the in-house grades competition was run last month with Lisheng (David) Yang winning the A Grade.
The Canterbury Clubs Open Table Tennis Champs were held at the Hornby Club on the 15th of June. Successful Hornby players were Gregg Davey and Abbey Webb, who were runners-up in the A Grade. JinJing Ou was the runner-up in the A/R Grade. Alison Cook and Wolfgang Zdrenka achieved runners-up in the C Grade and JinJing Ou combined with Andy Newman (Richmond) to win the A/R Grade Doubles.
This month we will be hosting the Canterbury Clubs Table Tennis Veteran and Masters Tournament. This will be held at the Hornby Club on the 13th of July in the Hornby Events Centre, starting at 9am.
