July 2023 All Sports Update

Hi everyone,
On 9 June, we held our second All Sports Night amongst our sports sections for this year: “The Dumbo Hampton Tournament”.
We had 11 teams entered, which gave a bye at one stage during the night to just five of the teams playing during the night. So, each of our 11 sections had 10 players per team, playing the different games of Darts, Mini golf, Euchre Cards, Indoor Bowls, Quoites and Pool. Everyone had a fun night going by the atmosphere.
These nights are a chance for members to meet other Hornby Club Members from other sections, have a laugh, hopefully, play against each other and it doesn’t matter if you think you are not the best at playing each individual game, sometimes luck plays a big part in the results.
The winning team on the night was the Golf Section getting 17 pts, followed closely in second by the Crib Section on 16 pts. Third was combined Cards/Crib Team on 14.1/2 pts. Other sections followed closely behind.
We finished the night with awesome platters of supper, available to each section/table, and had the chance to have a couple of drinks as well during the night.
Once again, Moggy would like to thank all his team of helpers, and raffle ladies, and those that set up and then put away at the end of the night.
Next All Sports: Sunday 6 August 1pm. “Alan Cole Euchre Tournament”, where all sections play Euchre against other sections. Always a fun, casual afternoon.
We look forward to all delegates of sections putting forward their teams at the next All Sports Meeting, in July.
