July 2021 Golf Update

Hello to you all,
Let us sincerely hope things get better weatherwise as some of the golf courses were closed late last month and that was so frustrating for some of our golfing nuts (me included). At least we are past the shortest day and things will now improve.
The latest game the Golf section had was at Rangiora Golf Course. The day was overcast and there was no frost. The game was a stroke game on nett results. The winners were first Ricky Herington 69, second equal were Mike James and Jack Kingi Hazel 70, fourth was Dave Benn 71 and Richard Hampton 72.
In the Ladies Grade, Raylene Adler 79 and Pat Evans 81. The scoring was extremely good considering the real heavy conditions. There were three, twos: Pete Hallewell, Steve Lambert and Pat Evans, who also took out the ladies nearest the pin. Well done everybody.
The sections next game will be held on 18 July at McLean’s Island with a 9.30am start. Anyone who is interested in joining the section, please put your name up on the noticeboard at Hornby Club or just rock up on the day at 9am. There are massive perks if you join us, as golf is a good walk, and you meet some fabulous people.
