February 2023 Travel Update

Happy New Year to all,
I hope your holiday time has been fun and you have had a chance to rest up.
Travel section has had several new members sign up and we thank you for that and hope we manage to have some outings this year that you can all enjoy
On Sunday 8 January we had a total of 53 members come on our mystery trip. We commenced with morning coffee or tea with scones and cream.
We then back tracked to the races at Motukarara. We had a deluxe marquee set up with tables and chairs for all of us. We had a Christmas lunch served at 1pm by Country Feasts.
Even those who had never been to races before thoroughly enjoyed the day, in fact I have never received so much thanks and compliments after any function than after this event. Everyone had such a fun time.
Coming up…
We are currently working on an outing for Wednesday 1 March, we are travelling by train to Kaikoura, where we will then be met by Kaikoura shuttles to show us about, visit the seal colony, hopefully the view from the peninsula then take us to the new Sudima hotel for finger food lunch. Train leaves for our return at 4pm check in reaching Christchurch station at 7.30pm.
Our next meeting will be held on Monday 20 February at 7pm at the Hornby Club.
