December 2024 – Table Tennis Update

Our season is now finished, and our last playing day was on the 26th of November. Membership was down slightly from 2023, with some players only joining for a few weeks.

The section held its AGM and Cup Presentation on the 5th of November. Elected for the 2025 season were:

  • Chairperson: Michael Hills
  • Secretary: Steve Ross
  • Treasurer: Alison Cook
  • Club Captain: Glenn Ross
  • Committee: Anne Hay, Watson Ou, Noel Ward, Arthur Zhang
  • AllSports Delegates: Watson Ou, Arthur Zhang

This year’s winners of the grades were:

  • A Grade: Anny Li
  • A/R Grade: Watson Ou
  • B Grade: Anne Hay
  • C Grade: Chun Liang

On 12th November, we had a visit from the Rangiora Table Tennis Club. Twelve players were matched up with some of our lower-graded players. It was an evening enjoyed by all.

The starting date for next year is the 4th of February. Any new members to the Hornby Club are welcome to join the section, as playing Table Tennis has many health benefits.
