December 2021 Travel Update

Friday 3 Dec, 2021

This is the last newsletter for the year of difference 2021.

It has been an interesting year, with the covid restrictions.

Congratulations to the President, board members, management and staff of the Hornby Club for getting us through this difficult time.

The restrictions have been difficult for all but hey, well done everyone.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks go to Travel committee for the help given through the year. We have had an interesting time and received great support from all members in attending our functions.

It is very rewarding when you put work into these outings to see how much they are all enjoyed.

We will finish our year with a visit to the Himalayan lilies at Mt Peel on 12 December. After spending 2 ½ hrs there we then move on to Geraldine Orchard and Farm shop café for lunch. We have 48 people attending this and I’m sure a good time will be had by all.

On Friday 17 December we will hold our Christmas party, which will be held upstairs in the new Hornby Club Events Centre. We have booked the band, Cherbro, to entertain us for four hours commencing at 7pm (entrance not before 6.30pm) and supper will be served at 9.30pm. I am confident the supper will be superb as usual, supplied and organised by our function manager Tracey Green. At time of writing this, 86 tickets have been distributed for the evening. You will note the tickets are perforated so you hand in one half of the ticket and the other is kept for two lucky draws for ½ hams. This draw will take place on completion of supper.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
