April 2026 – Golf Update

Thirty players from Hornby and Ashburton clubs played for the Ashorn Trophy on Sunday 22nd March at Templeton golf course. Ashburton won this competition 310 to 299 stableford points.
Best scores for Hornby were Curtis Lippitt with 36 points, Janette Benn and Colin Ellison both with 33 points, and Ricky Heatherington with 31 points.
In February we had eight men playing at the men’s South Island tournament at Rangiora. They did not win any of the top prizes, but Richard Hampton won the individual 36 hole nett trophy. Well done Richard.
Six men travelled to Alexandra for the men’s nationals tournament. No top prizes, but Raro got two Nearest to Pin competitions. Well done Raro.
