April 2023 Outdoor Bowls Update

Our season mystery coach trip had us playing bowls at the Leeston Bowling Club.
It was great weather and a good number of members made it a great day out. Two teams shone above the rest, the Riccy skipped team with Neville Houston, Sid Payne and Bill Stephenson and the Denis Levers skipped team with Sarelda Rossouw, Graham Payne and Norah Craik. Both teams had two wins and played each other in the last game with a draw. Riccy’s team won overall by points difference.
Thanks to the Leeston Bowling Club and their members who helped out during the day for a great day with an excellent green, good food, great facilities and bar.
On a sadder note, the longest member of the section and our last Life Member from the Hornby Bowling Club passed away, Barbara Milne, may she rest in peace and catch up with a few old mates and do a bit of line dancing.
Our next game is on 16 April with the first of our Winer Bowls held at the Racecourse Bowling Club. Please note, this is a 10.30 start, check the notice board at the Hornby WMC.
