April 2022 Travel Update
Monday 4 Apr, 2022
Hello to everyone,
On 6 March 2022, 50 travel section members departed Hornby Club at 1pm to make their way to Lyttleton to take a trip on the tug around the harbour and out to the heads. This was an excellent trip and we were so lucky with the weather being a very warm 30deg. The trip was scheduled for 1 1⁄2 hrs, however we had longer than that.
The tug trip was followed up by a “fives for food and drink” at the Fisherman’s wharf. The food there was very good, along with the hospitality shown us. We were given a separate room set aside from other patrons, so it made us feel safer.
We arrived back at the Hornby Club about 7pm and quite a few of us stayed on for a while and had a great chat. A fabulous afternoon and early evening.
Thanks to Shirley and Cyril Williams for the suggestion of this trip.
Other Future Events
For the next while we will put on hold future outings until this pandemic slows down considerably.
A notice will be put on the travel section board for nominations for committee in a week or so.
The next meeting will be our AGM on Monday 18 April at 7pm upstairs at Hornby Club. This is Easter Monday and as the next day is back to work, we think anyone who has been away for weekend would be back by Monday evening.
Warm regards
Lyn Wright
