July 2023 Travel Update

Hello to everyone,
Well, what a bleak month June has been.
Although not as cold as it can get for this month, the continual grey misty days are quite depressing to say the least. Will the sunshine for us again soon please.
Travel section held their mid-winter party on Friday 16 June, this was a fun night held in the event centre at Hornby Club with approximately 60 people in attendance.
It was unfortunate that a last-minute withdrawal from the band Churbro, due to a sudden illness found their leader in hospital.
It was sad news, but Lino found us a replacement band that most seemed to thoroughly enjoy. We are thankful to Peter Cairns and his duo partner Liz for playing for us at such short notice. They played music that we all knew and most managed to get up and dance to.
The supper was arranged by Tracey and Greer and was as always superb so thank you ladies, well done again.
Derek it was an excellent night and congratulations to you on your first organised social event for this group. Well done.
There is a notice on the board at the moment for a Sunday outing to ten pin bowling followed by lunch. This is on Sunday 16 July.
Please put your name on the board and money into the office if you intend to participate.
Remember our monthly meetings are always held on the third Monday of each month at 7pm.
