June 2022 Travel Update

Hello fellow members,
My word these cold frosty mornings are pretty consistent. I suppose we are getting sunshine to follow, but with the cold winds it’s cold, and we have a way to go for sure.
The Travel section has some outings coming up in the future which are proving to be very popular. At our last meeting members were advised of a Tranz Alpine train trip Alan Robertson & Lee Taylor – Winners Jack Elcock Open Pairs to Moana with lunch at the hotel restaurant in Lake Brunner. We then catch the train back to Christchurch that day. The date for this is 21 August. This was filled in ten days. We also have our mid-winter dinner arranged. This is for a buffet dinner at the club on 1 July. We will be entertained by the band Chur Bro. This band has proven to be very popular in the past. Entrance to this dinner is by ticket only so anyone requiring a ticket please make contact with us to arrange a time to issue you with a ticket. The cost for this is $25. Our next meeting will be held on Monday 20 June at 7pm at the Hornby Club.
