August 2021 Outdoor Bowls Update

There were no bowls games in July, only our A.G.M. We had a very good turnout of members with the following elected Office Holders:
CHAIRPERSON: Robin Leary
VICE CHAIRPERSON: Les Jarvis
SECRETARY: Ann Wright
TREASURER: Dick Wragg
COMMITTEE: Ron Harwood, Denny Cunneen, Francis Streetly, Graham Payne and Trevor Williams.
Congratulations to Ann Wright who has been appointed as President of Bowls NZ for the next two years. She will also take over the position of the Section Secretary after Elaine Fenton stands down.
Elaine has served as the Secretary for the Hornby Club Outdoor Bowls Club and helped in transitioning it to the Section we are today. Secretaries are often unsung heroes, doing all the work but not getting the credit they deserve. Elaine fits this description, and we thank her for all her efforts as she will be sadly missed.
Our programme is not yet finalised for our next season, so keep an eye on our notice board for updates.
